Project SABI Motor Park Town

Connected Development and Boys Quarter Africa through the Project SABI campaign sensitized over 250 members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) from The Federal Capital Territory, Niger State and Nasarawa State on the need to end all forms of violence targeted toward women and girls.

The central objective of Project SABI is to galvanize the informal sector and localize the messaging around ending Violence Against Women and Girls(VAWG), considering the extent and depth of sexism and male dominance as enabling factors for this silent pandemic. Through this activity, we were able to achieve the following outcomes;

  • Commitment to creating a GBV desk office across motor parks in Abuja with an extension to two other States namely Nasarawa, and Niger.

  • Improved knowledge of participants to become GBV advocates themselves.

  • Commitment to designate focal persons that will be in charge of the Gender Desk Created across three States.

  • Adoption of the project Sabi Jingle and stickers that are now played across different Parks and distributed across all motor parks in the aforementioned States.
